Frequently Asked Questions
-
Yes, Ayaimah Golden Retrievers is fully ANKC registered through Dogs Queensland (Member #4100236163). All our puppies are registered with pedigree papers documenting their lineage. ANKC registration ensures we adhere to strict ethical breeding standards and that every puppy's heritage is accurately documented.
-
We're based in Burleigh Waters on Queensland's Gold Coast. Our breeding program operates from our family home, where our dogs live as beloved family members—not in kennels. We service families Australia wide.
-
Our focus is simple: quality over quantity. We're a small, family-run program that prioritises:
Exceptional bloodlines - UK and European imports with champion pedigrees
Comprehensive health testing - Hip/elbow scoring, heart clearances (Cardiologist), eye certifications (Ophthalmologist), and DNA profiling
Ethical breeding practices - We breed to better the breed, not for profit
Lifetime support - Our relationship doesn't end at pickup
Community involvement - Active committee members of the Golden Retriever Club of Queensland
We don't maintain large breeding operations or produce multiple litters simultaneously. Every puppy receives individual attention, early socialisation, and the best possible start in life.
-
Every Ayaimah breeding dog undergoes comprehensive health screening before being approved for breeding:
Hip & Elbow Scoring - Radiographic evaluation and specialist orthopedic assessment. We breed only from dogs with exceptional scores.
Heart Clearances - Certified by specialist veterinary cardiologists to screen for conditions like subvalvular aortic stenosis (SAS).
Eye Certifications - Veterinary ophthalmologist examinations to clear for Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) and other hereditary eye conditions.
DNA Profiling - Testing for:
Ichthyosis (ICT-A)
Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA 1 & PRA 2)
This level of testing isn't legally required, but it's ethically essential. We don't breed unless every health parameter is met.
-
Absolutely. We encourage approved families to meet our dogs (when timing and litter stage permit). Meeting the parents gives you insight into temperament, size, and the environment your puppy is raised in. We'll arrange a visit once your application is approved and we're matched with a suitable litter.
-
Yes, we're active members of:
Dogs Queensland (governing body for ANKC registration in QLD)
Golden Retriever Club of Queensland (we serve on the committee)
Our involvement in the breed community keeps us connected to the latest health research, breeding best practices, and breed preservation efforts.
-
Our puppies are priced to reflect the quality of our breeding program, comprehensive health testing, imported bloodlines, and the lifetime support we provide.
Pricing is discussed during the application process once we've established you're a suitable match for an Ayaimah puppy. We're transparent about costs but prefer to discuss pricing with serious, pre-qualified families.
Investment in a well-bred Golden Retriever from health-tested parents often saves thousands in potential veterinary costs down the road.

Your puppy will come home eating a premium puppy food, and we'll provide detailed feeding guidelines. We recommend continuing the same food for at least the first few weeks to avoid digestive upset during the transition period.
We're happy to discuss nutrition and can recommend high-quality food options suitable for Golden Retriever growth and development. We also partner with Lyka for premium fresh dog food if you're interested in exploring fresh-feeding options as your puppy matures.
