Hip & Elbow Scoring
Golden Retrievers can be predisposed to hip and elbow dysplasia, developmental conditions affecting joint formation. Every Ayaimah breeding dog undergoes radiographic evaluation and scoring through a specialist veterinary orthopedic assessment.
We only breed from dogs with exceptional hip and elbow scores, significantly reducing the likelihood of these conditions in our puppies. This isn't about meeting minimum standards—it's about exceeding them.
Heart Clearances
Cardiac health is non-negotiable. Each breeding dog receives regular heart clearances from a specialist veterinary cardiologist. Conditions like subvalvular aortic stenosis (SAS) can affect Golden Retrievers, and thorough cardiac screening helps ensure we're producing puppies with healthy hearts.
Eye Certifications
Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) and other hereditary eye conditions can impact Golden Retrievers. Our dogs are examined by veterinary ophthalmologists and cleared before breeding. These certifications provide peace of mind that your puppy's genetic foundation supports lifelong vision health.
DNA Profiling
We DNA test all breeding dogs for:
Ichthyosis (ICT-A) - A skin condition affecting Golden Retrievers
Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA 1 & PRA 2) - Hereditary blindness
By understanding each dog's genetic profile, we make informed breeding decisions that minimize hereditary disease risk.
